Undas: A Gathering or a Celebration?

Whatever we call it, either in Ilonggo, Tagalog, English or in any language people celebrate and gather.

All Saints’ Day is an important day for many countries around the globe. Filipinos celebrate it with gusto. Traditionally, it marks as a holiday that and people have their own style of festivities. A celebration to recall the dead either our family, loved ones, friends or anybody close to our hearts.

Due to the coming of the Spaniards in the Philippines, this culture was being introduced and Spanish missionaries came to the country to share their faith. One of the cultures and became a celebration of the Filipinos is the “All Saints’ Day” which we celebrate together since it’s a holiday which is so similar to the celebration of the Spanish festival.

Other countries that was colonized by the Spaniards  shared a common festivity were also celebrating the same occasion.

Easter Sunday Celebration

Last Sunday we celebrated Easter Sunday and we headed to Talisay City, Neg. Occ. Philippines. It was our first year since we just started last October of 2013. It’s just 5 months old and we still pray for people to come and join us.

There were 12 of us since we did it early morning around 5:30. After which hubby and I went to Mambucal Resort and had our bonding and fun just the two of us. O how I love that day.

Happy Mom’s Day 2012

Mothers’ Day, 2012

Mothers did great for their children. They are working seven days a week, 24 hours a day. A good mother loves her family and provides an atmosphere where each member can find acceptance, security, and understanding. She is there when the children need a listening ear, a comforting word, a warm hug, or a loving touch on a fevered brow. And for the Christian mother, her greatest joy is in teaching her children to trust and to love Jesus as their Savior.

That kind of mother deserves to be honored – not just on one special day a year but everyday. And that recognition should involve more than words; it ought to be shown in respect, thoughtfulness, and loving deeds. This was taken from the Daily Bread.
Of all the earthly things God givesThere’s one above all othersIt is the precious, priceless gift

Of loving Christian mothers

Godly mothers not only bring you up
they bring you to God

The Celebration – Masskara

masskara, celebration

Masskara is a celebration during the month of October here in the city of Bacolod, Phil. It’s a time where many tourists came and watch the succeeding shows every now and then. A city where everyone smiles at you and feel the warmth of the place. A place where everyone is busy from the schools to the stores and even big department stores join in the celebration.

Masskara has a yellow background – Mellow Yellow Monday is always on the go. See you…
